Man killed in shooting at Dollar Tree in KCMO, police say

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man shot inside a Dollar Tree store in Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday evening has died from his injuries, according to police.

Shortly before 7 p.m., officers responded to the store in the 1600 block of East 63rd Street, where they found a man with life-threatening gunshot injuries.

The victim, 31-year-old Terrel Henderson, was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.

Police said a preliminary investigation found that a disturbance between Henderson and another person preceded the shooting, which occurred inside the business.

Detectives were speaking to people at the store on Tuesday evening. No one has been taken into custody.

The deadly shooting marks the 146th homicide in KCMO this year as the city continues to see historic levels of violent crime. In all of 2019, Kansas City reported a near-record 150 homicides.
