Man shot to death in 8100 block of Wabash; two others injured in separate shootings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A black male in his 30s was found shot to death Saturday night in the 8100 block of Wabash Avenue.

Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. in regard to a shooting.

The man, later identified as 27-year-old Jordan Matthews, was found on a sidewalk suffering from obvious gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

There is no suspect information at this time.

At least two other people were shot Saturday in KCMO.

An adult male was shot in the back around 8:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of Troost Avenue.

KCPD officers responded to the scene and found one person who had suffered minor injuries. He was traveling south on Troost between 39th and 42nd streets when someone shot at him from a dark SUV, according to police.

The man was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

About five hours earlier, a woman suffered serious injuries in a shooting shortly before 3:30 p.m. at apartments in the 300 block of Bellaire Avenue.

She was transported to a local hospital and KCPD was searching for a female suspect.
