Olathe police: 68-year-old woman stabbed to death Friday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 68-year-old woman died from injuries sustained in a stabbing Friday in Olathe.

According to Olathe police, officers responded to an armed disturbance around noon in the 10200 block of South Shadow Circle.

Upon arrival, police discovered the woman, identified as Patricia Fitzgerald of Montgomery, Texas, suffering from an apparent stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 38-year-old woman who knew the victim also was at the scene. She was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to Olathe police.

The case remains under investigation by the Olathe Police Department, which asks anyone with information to contact the department at 913-971-6950. However, police said that "all involved parties" have been identified, and a there is no "outstanding threat" to the community.
