OLATHE, Kan. – The Johnson County District Attorney's Office has charged a man in the death of a pregnant Olathe woman.
Devonte Dominique Wash, 26, of Kansas City, Kansas, has been charged with capital murder in Ashley Harlan's death. Olathe police said Wash was Harlan's boyfriend.
On January 30, officers were sent to the 1200 block of East Westerfield Place in response to a 911 call. When officers arrived, they found Harlan dead in an Olathe apartment building. She was pregnant.
The arrest and charges come roughly a week after police increased the reward for tips in the case to $5,000.
Wash's first court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 27. His bond is currently set at $5,000,000.
