One killed in shooting at 24th and Quincy, police say

KANSAS CITY, MO. — A 28-year-old man died in a shooting Monday night in Kansas City, Missouri, police said.

The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. at 24th and Quincy streets. The victim was found on a sidewalk and transported to an area hospital, where he died a short time later.

The victim was later identified as Damon Copes.

The shooting Monday was the 48th homicide of the year, compared with 44 homicides at this time in 2018.
