One man was shot to death Sunday in east Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police responded to a reported shooting around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 2300 block of East 28th Street in Kansas City, Missouri.

Upon arrival, KCPD officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound in the street.

He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim later Sunday as Shawndell Reed, 33, of Kansas City, Missouri.

Witnesses said the victim was in a physical altercation with the shooter at the time he shot.

The suspect remains at-large.
