UPDATE: Man charged in wife's fatal stabbing

UPDATE: A Grain Valley, Mo., man has been charged in his wife's death. 

According to court documents, Larry D. Ratliff is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the fatal stabbing of Carolyn Ratliff. 

Police said around 9:30 a.m., officers were called to a home in the 10200 block of Northeast 38th Street in Kansas City in regard to a stabbing.

Court documents state the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department received a 911 call from a family member stating Larry Ratliff killed his wife. The documents state Ratliff also placed a 911 call and said he killed his wife. 

When officers arrived, they found Larry Ratliff in the driveway of a residence. Court documents state he told police officers he stabbed his wife four times in the chest, and she was inside the home. Police located Carolyn Ratliff inside the home, and she was declared deceased at the scene. 

Kansas City police arrested Larry Ratliff at the scene. 

Court documents state Larry Ratliff also called two women and told them he killed their mother. 

According to court documents, the witnesses sent the voicemails to detectives. Detectives listened to them, and both were from a man that was crying and identified himself as the witness' dad. Court documents state in the voicemails he says he killed the victim. 

Larry Ratliff's bond is set at $1 million.
