KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Independence police are investigating a homicide in the 9300 block of East 16th Street South in western Independence.
Police said one person was shot around 10:50 p.m. Thursday.
The victim, who was later identified as 24-year-old Shonay M. Persinger, of Kansas City, Missouri, died at the scene.
Police have not released any suspect information.
