KANSAS CITY, Mo. — KCMO police officers found a homicide victim Monday evening on the side of Bellefontaine Avenue near East 50th Street.
The officers were headed north on Bellefontaine Avenue just before 6 p.m. when they made the discovery.
Emergency medical crews were sent to the scene on a shooting and declared the victim dead.
No one in the neighborhood had called police about the sound of gunshots or a person shot.
This was 93rd homicide of the year in KCMO.
There were 89 homicides at this point last year in KCMO.
