An Overland Park man charged with stealing an airport shuttle and tampering with a private jet in June 2016 reached a plea bargain with prosecutors in a Clay County court room Thursday afternoon.

According to court documents, airport police said Adam Scott stole a shuttle van from Kansas City International Airport and drove it to Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, where he got past security onto the tarmac and into the cockpit of a private passenger jet. He was manipulating the controls in the cockpit when he was caught.

On Thursday, Scott's attorney said Scott was under the influence of new prescription medicine for ADHD when he decided to steal a van and try to steal a jet.

Scott was sentenced to five years' probation.
