KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Overland Park woman connected to a years-long interstate prostitution ring in Johnson County pleaded guilty Monday to federal charges, officials said.

Chunqui Wu, 62, pleaded guilty to one count of transportation with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, according to U.S. Attorney for Kansas Stephen McAllister.

According to a federal indictment, Wu operated three massage parlors in the county: Alpha Massage at 116 S. Clairborne Road in Olathe; A Plus Massage at 527 N. Mur-Len Road in Olathe; and King Spa at 13104 State Line Road in Leawood.

An undercover confidential informant contacted Wu about a job at her massage parlors, and she made statements indicating that she allowed employees to perform sexual services for tips, McAllister said in a news release.

Other investigators found that employees in her massage parlors were offering sexual services to customers.

Wu was arrested when she went to meet the undercover informant at Kansas City International Airport and bring her to Kansas to work in one of the massage parlors.

She is connected to an investigation focused on "illicit massage parlor businesses" that netted a half-dozen other arrests last year.

Wu's sentencing date is set for Nov. 16. She faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
