KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A male died in a shooting Monday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri.
The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. near E. 69th Street and Bellefontaine Avenue.
Police initially received a call about shots fired in the area, but it was later upgraded to a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
It wasn't immediately clear what led to the violence.
Tactical offices later arrived at the scene and surrounded the home where the victim was killed.
The shooting Monday marked the 48th of year in KCMO.
