UPDATE, July 11 | Police have identified the victim as Shawn Mayberry, 49.
ORIGINAL REPORT | Police responded to a deadly shooting late Tuesday night in east Kansas City, Missouri.
The gunfire happened in the 2400 block of College Avenue just after 9:30 p.m.
When police arrived, they were summoned to a nearby home where an adult man was located outside the front of the home.
Police say he died on the scene.
An adult man was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives are not currently looking for any additional persons of interest.
