Man dead, teen, woman injured in triple shooting Tuesday night in south Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man died and a teen and a woman were critically injured in a shooting in south Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday night, police said.

Just before 7:30 p.m., police responded to the scene on reports of a shooting in the 11700 block of Corrington Avenue.

On arrival, officers located a woman suffering from gun shot wounds. She was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Officers were later directed inside a home in the neighborhood, where they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

The man was later identified as 23-year-old Prophet Thompson.

A teenage male whose age isn't currently known was transported by personal vehicle to an area hospital. He's in critical condition.

No suspect in custody and no word on what led to the violence.
