Shooting victim dies after arriving at KCFD station

KANSAS CITY, MO. — One of the two people who arrived at a Kansas City, Missouri, fire station suffering from a gunshot wound Sunday has died.

A man and woman arrived at a KCFD Fire Station No. 24 at 2039 Hardesty Ave. around 9:45 p.m. in a vehicle. Both were transported to the hospital.

KCPD confirmed that the male shooting victim died. Police said Monday morning the female shooting victim was was in serious condition, but stable.

Police initlally were looking for a crime scene, but believe the shooting took place somewhere near the northwest part of Blue Valley Park along 23rd St. between Wheeling and Topping Ave.

There is no suspect information at this time and police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call the KCPD Homicide Unit at 816-234-5043 or call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
