KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It hardly seems like a wise plan, but some people have to learn the hard way.
One person was arrested Thursday night in a parking lot near North Oak Trafficway and Northeast Shady Lane Drive in Gladstone after stealing a police vehicle in Oakview.

The incident started around 7:40 p.m. near Northeast Shady Lane Drive and Circle Drive.
Officers from Kansas City, Missouri, Gladstone, Claycomo and Riverside joined in the pursuit along with the deputies from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri state Highway Patrol to halt the fleeing suspect in the Oakview Police Department SUV.
There were no reported injuries.
Oakview is a small village in Clay County just east of U.S. 169 with a population of fewer than 400.
