Suspect in custody after Friday morning robberies in Overland Park, Olathe

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A suspect is in custody after aggravated robberies in both Overland Park and Olathe, Kansas, Friday morning.

Overland Park police said the person arrested is suspected in an aggravated robbery in the 9400 block of West 148th Place.

Then the suspect was allegedly involved in another robbery in Olathe, where officers were called to the 15600 block of West 140th just before 8:30 a.m.

The victim told police a man with a gun approached him and demanded his car.

The 22-year-old suspect then fled the scene, police said.

Kansas Highway Patrol and Overland Park police assisted with a chase.

Overland Park police said the man crashed the allegedly stolen car at 135th and Switzer before taking off on foot.

He was caught and arrested near 137th and Grant.
