Victim injured in KCMO shooting Thursday near Raytown elementary school

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a shooting Thursday afternoon near an elementary school in the Raytown School District.

Around 12:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of E. 67th Street and Woodson Road on a reported shooting.

Police say the incident has nothing to do with the nearby Robinson Elementary School.

A spokesperson for the Raytown School District said the school was placed on lock down while police investigated the shooting.

The victim’s injuries were described as non life-threatening.
