The murder trial of Kylr Yust will feature four main people: Kylr Yust, Kara Kopetsky , Jessica Runions and Jessep Carter. Each person's story will play an important role in whether or not Yust will be found guilty of murdering the women. Click on a photo to read more about each.

Kara Kopetsky

Kara Kopetsky went missing at 17 years old when she on May 4, 2007. She was in an on and off relationship with Kylr Yust at the time of her disappearance, and several witnesses claimed Yust admitted to strangling her to death.

Jessica Runions

Jessica Runions was 21 years old when she was last seen alive on Sept. 8, 2016. She was last seen at a house party with Kylr Yust, who was later charged with burning the missing woman's car.
Kylr Yust

Kylr Yust is accused of killing both Kara Kopetsky and Jessica Runions, nearly a decade apart. He spent time in and out of court for drugs, theft and abuse before being charged with murder.

Jessep Carter

Jessep Carter was Kylr Yust's stepbrother and the witness who allegedly turned the accused killer in for burning Jessica Runions' car. Though he may have been the star witness at Yust's trial, he was found dead in his jail cell in Jackson County.
