KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs and Royals are partnering to host a voter registration and food distribution event on Tuesday at the Truman Sports Complex.

It starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. and is a joint partnership between the two Kansas City teams and the United Way of Greater Kansas City.

The drive-through event will allow anyone from Missouri or Kansas to register to vote in time for the Nov. 3 election.

Arrowhead Stadium will serve as a polling place on Nov. 3 for the general election, open to Kansas City voters who live in Jackson County. The polling place will serve under the Kansas City Board of Election jurisdiction.

The Chiefs have been active on the voter registration front before and during the current NFL season. Tyrann Mathieu hosted an event of his own at Union Station last week.

"If we can make voting cool, if we could make that a trendy thing then we're really changing the future, we're really are setting these kids up for a great future, we're really allowing these kids access to more opportunities," Mathieu said.

The Super Bowl MVP has weighed in on the issue, too.

"We're gonna try to find the best way to give money or support or whatever it is to get as many people registered to vote and so they can go in and try to affect change in whatever way they feel possible," Patrick Mahomes said.

The food distribution event at the complex will be put on by Harvesters and will have enough food to feed 2,000 households. That will also run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The food distribution is open to anyone and attendees do not have to register to vote to receive food.

Visitors should enter via Gate 4 off of Raytown Road, and then head to Lot L at the Truman Sports Complex.
