JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — The clock is ticking for people to get out and vote in Johnson County before Election Day.

Advance voting started two weeks ago on October 17th, and within the first few days, the Johnson County Election Office tweeted the large turn-out numbers.

Johnson County Election Commissioner Connie Schmidt tweeted the most recent advance voting and mail-in ballot numbers on Friday morning.

She said 102,992 people have participated in advance voting as of Friday. Schmidt tweeted on Saturday morning that the high numbers of advance voters has cut the expected numbers way down for Election Day turnout.

The election office is still encouraging Johnson County residents to vote now ahead of Tuesday.

"Early voting locations will be open from 9am until 3pm on Saturday and then they close, all of our off-site locations. Monday morning, we are still open here (Johnson County Election Office) from 8am until noon for in-person early voting," said Schmidt.
