KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Before this month’s elections, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes left no doubt where he stood in getting out the vote.

Those efforts earned Mahomes a special honor Friday.

The National Football League Players Association honored Mahomes with its Week 9 Community MVP award for helping to cover the costs associated with turning Arrowhead Stadium into a polling place for some Kansas City, Missouri, voters.

ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported the news on Twitter.

More than 2,100 voters took to Arrowhead Stadium on Election Day to cast their ballots.
