KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Before this month’s elections, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes left no doubt where he stood in getting out the vote.
Those efforts earned Mahomes a special honor Friday.
The National Football League Players Association honored Mahomes with its Week 9 Community MVP award for helping to cover the costs associated with turning Arrowhead Stadium into a polling place for some Kansas City, Missouri, voters.
ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported the news on Twitter.
Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes named Week 9 NFLPA Community MVP after he helped cover the cost for new voting machines so that Arrowhead Stadium could serve as a polling place during the 2020 general election as well as in future elections.

More than 2,100 voters took to Arrowhead Stadium on Election Day to cast their ballots.
