KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The day after winning the democratic nomination for Missouri Governor, Nicole Galloway held a press conference highlighting why she should win the race in November.
Among the topics Galloway addressed was Amendment 2, which Missourians voted on Tuesday to expand Medicaid in the state.
“We can expand healthcare without raising taxes or cutting other programs as governor that’s exactly what I’ll do, Governor Parson won’t,” Galloway said.
Galloway also criticized Parson for not supporting Amendment 2 and said she believes he will attempt to undermine the votes of Missourians.
“He campaigned against Medicaid expansion, moved it to the August ballot to try to defeat it and said he’d raised taxes and cut other programs if we voted for it,” she said.

On the other hand, Galloway said she has a plan to expand Medicaid that would not only keeping working people in mind but include them in the process.
“As governor, working people will be at the center of everything that I do, with working people at the table,” she said.
Galloway says she would “reset” the process of how the state has handled COVID-19.
Some of this includes providing more local funding for contact tracing and more testing to get the virus under control.
“Governor Parson had his chance, he failed the test of leadership, it is time for a change,” she said.
On Tuesday, Parson also addressed Galloway saying, "My opponent would embrace the ideas of the radical left, to turn back the progress we have made and will enact more regulations, more mandates, increase taxes and make Jefferson City more powerful.”
