On Friday afternoon, Kylr Yust appeared in court via Skype on charges of burning Jessica Runions’s car.
Runions, 21, has been missing since September 8.
Yust’s lawyer placed a not guilty plea to the charges. His next court date will be November 17.
Kansas City police said they are still investigating the disappearance of Runions as a missing person case.

They have searched the Grandview and Belton areas with the help of Missouri Search and Rescue.
Runions’s family has also conducted their own searches.
