KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man died and two women were critically wounded after they were shot inside a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, police said.
Officers responded around 3:40 p.m. to the area of East 27th Street and Jackson Avenue. Capt. Dave Jackson, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department, said the three shooting victims were found inside a vehicle.
It was unclear if the shooting occurred as a drive-by or if the shooting suspect walked up to the car, Jackson said.
Citizens rendered aid to the two women before first responders arrived. The women were transported to an area hospital.
Police have not released the name of the man who was killed in the shooting.
Detectives were canvassing the area and attempting to locate any witnesses on Wednesday afternoon.
