KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man was killed in a shooting Tuesday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
Police responded around 8:15 p.m. to the 11200 block of Eastern Avenue in south Kansas City. One man, who had apparently been shot, was found unresponsive on the ground near East 113th Terrace and Ruskin Way, police said.
The victim, identified on Wednesday as 25-year-old Quindell Burrell, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police they heard people arguing and said a dark-colored vehicle left the scene after the shooting.
Detectives canvassed the area, and crime scene investigators were processing the scene for evidence.
The man's death marks the 93rd homicide in KCMO so far this year, which is on pace to be one of the deadliest in recent history.
