The injured man — who was taken to an area hospital, MSHP said — was traveling at idle speed in a 1987 Bayliner when a 2018 Malibu driven by a 23-year-old Lee's Summit man began traveling straight at his boat.
That driver of the Bayliner tried to turn out of the way, but was unable to avoid the collision, according to an MSHP Online Boat/Drowning Incident Report.
Both boats suffered only minor damage.
