KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One lane of southbound Interstate 35 on the Kit Bond Bridge closed just after 3 p.m. Friday.
The closure was caused by a damaged expansion joint.
Missouri Department of Transportation maintenance crews arrived around 4 p.m. to begin repairs.
On social media, MoDOT said the damage was "typical wear and tear."

MoDOT advised drivers to expect delays.
By Friday evening, the lane reopened.
