Editor's note: This story has been updated with the name of the victim who died in the crash as well as preliminary investigation.
One person died in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday night in Liberty, Missouri.
The initial investigation indicates that around 6:30 p.m., the driver of a Ford F150 heading south on Missouri Highway 291 near Middlebrook Drive lost control and crossed over into the northbound lanes of the highway. The Ford struck two northbound cars before it rolled over.
Police say the driver of the Ford, identified as Kansas City, Missouri, resident Damian Gunn, 20, died from injuries in the crash. A passenger in the Ford was not injured. No injuries were reported in the two other vehicles that were struck.
The highway was closed between Middlebrook and Orchard Avenue as police conducted the investigation.
