UPDATE | Police on Friday identified the two crash victims as Carolyn J. Nuckles, 59, of Garnett, Kansas, and Paula E. Weers, 49, of Spring Hill, Kansas.
EARLIER | Two people died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Paola.
The wreck happened shortly before 4:15 a.m. on US 169 near West 327th Street.
Paola police said one vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lane and collided with a southbound vehicle.
There was only one person in each vehicle and both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
