2 women arrested in death of Eudora man found in burning house

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Douglas County authorities say two women were taken into custody in the death of a Eudora man whose body was found inside a burning house.

Tria Evans, a 38-year-old Lawrence woman, and Christina Towell, a 37-year-old Leavenworth woman, were both arrested on Thursday. 

They were booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, arson and aggravated burglary, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim, 34-year-old Joel Wales, was found dead Nov. 3 in a home south of Lawrence along E1200 Road.
