KANSAS CITY, Mo. — What started as a small comedy show in his living room has turned into a big fundraiser for the Veterans Community Project.
Will C. hosts a nightly comedy show called “Broken Zzz’s” live on Facebook.
A veteran himself, he raises money for the Veterans Community Project, which provides temporary transitional housing and services for vets experiencing homelessness.
He was challenged Friday to eat 24 tacos in 20 minutes and raised $1,200 through the effort.
“It’s art, it’s community, it’s healing — and we have to start right here in our own communities, so being able to do this, it means a lot to me,” Will C. said.
An anonymous donor gave an additional $800, bumping up the total donation to VCP to $2,000.
Will C. said he hopes to continue raising money for the Veterans Community Project through his comedy shows.
