9 injured, 1 seriously, in 3-vehicle KCMO crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Four children and one adult were injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri.

Police responded around 3:30 p.m. to the area of East 23rd Street and Monroe Avenue, where officers determined that a GMC sport-utility vehicle turned into the path of a westbound Chevrolet sedan as Toyota van, also heading west, struck the Chevrolet.

An adult man and four juveniles in the GMC were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

One adult in the Chevrolet suffered serious injuries, while three other adults suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota was not injured.
