6 KCMO council members in self-quarantine after possible coronavirus exposure

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Six Kansas City, Missouri, Council members might have been exposed to coronavirus at a recent National League of Cities meeting in Washington, D.C.

The six people have self-quarantined, but have not shown any symptoms of the illness, according to a spokesperson for Mayor Quinton Lucas.

Two people who were active participants in the conference tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release from the National League of Cities.

The two are recovering at home and are feeling better, according to the release.

The Kansas City, Missouri, City Council is scheduled to have committee meetings on Wednesday and a council meeting on Thursday.

Those who are self-quarantined can attend via teleconference or video conference.
