KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Seven of 11 rides at Schlitterbahn Waterpark found to be in violation of state regulations have now been cleared by inspectors.
The 11 rides remained closed when the rest of the rest of the park opened for the season on May 25.
But Kansas Department of Labor officials and Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree have now cleared seven of the rides and they are now approved to begin operations, according to a release from the Wyandotte County District Attorney's office.
The rides are:
- Bahnzai Pipeline Tube slide
- Black Knight Tube Slide
- Blitz Falls Aquaveyor
- Cyclone
- King Kaw Aquaveyor
- Storm Blaster
- Twister
The release says that the remaining four rides will open once they are cleared by officials.
Schlitterbahn provided the following statement to 41 Action News:
Schlitterbahn Kansas City has now passed the KDOL audit review for all seven rides we submitted to the Department – we have not yet submitted the remaining four. We appreciate the patience of our fans as we address these issues. We hope this additional step has provided every assurance to our guests that we remain dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience at our park.
