KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The 9th annual Diva Dash 5K and Lil' Princess Girls Run got underway at Corporate Woods Saturday morning.

Dozens of runners gathered to raise money for Infant Loss Resources, an organization that promotes safe practices to reduce infant death and provide grief support for those who have lost babies.

Organizers encouraged runners to wear masks and observe social distancing before and after the race. Sanitizing stations also were spread throughout.

Runners were set off in small waves every 30 seconds or so, but runners were not asked to wear a mask during the race.

The Lil' Princess Girls Run was for girls ages 8 and under in a fun run of 50-200 yards based on age. Participants received a shirt, custom bib, tiara and a Lil' Princess medal.
