UPDATE, Feb 28. 8:30 a.m. | Police identified the victim as Uvoncka V. McKie, 46, of Kansas City, Missouri.
EARLIER | A woman was struck and killed on U.S. 71 highway and East Gregory Boulevard early Saturday.
Police were called around 12:20 a.m. to the scene in the northbound lanes of U.S. 71.
Officers said a vehicle hit a woman in the northbound lanes.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle continued northbound and has not been located.
An investigation is underway.
