American Royal Pro Rodeo begins on Friday

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Time to horse around at the American Royal. And, that’s no bull.

Well, actually, there is some bull. And, some roping, riding, bronc and mutton bustin’!

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is at Hale Arena to compete in the American Royal Pro Rodeo.

There are more competitors than ever because this is one of the last stops on the circuit before the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

John Harrison, a world-class rodeo clown, will be part of all three shows-- 7:30 p.m. Friday night, 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

One day, they needed somebody to clown around and they tapped Harrison.

He and his trusty horse, Juice, have been entertaining crowds and keeping the cowboys and cowgirls safe for nearly 20 years.

Also, Lynn Parman, president and CEO of the American Royal, wants to make sure everybody knows that the fun continues after the last act.

Tailgating with live music keeps things going after the rodeo.

If you’re ready to be roped into a great time for the whole family, saddle up and ride to this weekend’s American Royal Pro Rodeo!
