KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman who recently moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and had yet to find housing has been charged with stabbing a man to death last month.
Ilene Davis, 48, was charged in Jackson County District Court with second-degree murder and armed criminal action Friday in connection with the May 16 killing of Howard West.
Police found West dead about 7 a.m. near Independence and Forest avenues.
Detectives later learned that West, who also was homeless, and Davis were together before the murder in an RV in a parking lot not far when where West was found.
The two got into an argument before Davis allegedly stabbed West in the neck, court records said. West ran from the trailer before he bled out from the stabbing wound and died a few minutes later.
Davis came to the area from Arizona. She's now in the Jackson County Detention Center on a $150,000 cash-only bond.
