KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after a 6- to 7-month-old girl was shot near 15th and Lawn in Kansas City, Missouri.
The incident happened around 2:15 Monday morning.
According to police, early information indicated a mother was standing outside on her porch when she heard a pop and realized her baby had been shot in the leg.
Police later said the little girl had been sitting in a car seat in the back seat of a car when she was shot in the ankle.
The baby was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to be OK.
As of a few hours after the shooting, police said there are no witnesses or suspects.
Police were able to recover the bullet.
