KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Next week, dog owners and their pets will have a new place to play and hang out.
“Bar K,” a two-acre off-leash dog park on the Berkley Riverfront, officially opens next Tuesday, Aug. 14.
It's a space tailored for both humans and their canine friends.
For humans, there is a bar, restaurant, giant lawn games, and a coffee shop.
For their canine companions, there are two dog parks, a splash pad, a rock climbing wall and a jungle gym with plenty of room to run around.
The owners of "Bar K,” Leib Dodell and Dave Hensley, said they just really wanted to make a place where dogs and their owners could hang out.
Once it opens, Bar K will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
An annual membership will run $225 for a single dog and $25 for each additional dog in the household. For non-members, there is a $10 day pass for one dog and it’ll cost another $5 for additional dogs. There is no charge for humans visiting Bar K.
