Ready? Everybody sing: “I’m a lumberjack, and I’m okay!”
You can release your inner lumberjack in the West Bottoms at Blade and Timber, the place for urban axe throwing!
They’ve been honing their skills for about three weeks now.
According to Ryan Henrich, one of the owners (and an ace thrower), the response has been terrific.
When you walk through the door, you take your place in one of the six lanes.
A trainer/teacher will show you the proper manner for holding and releasing the ax.
While there are trick throws the experts can demonstrate, for most of us, the two-handed, over-head, one-rotation toss is what we’re going for.
Before you know it, you are feeling pretty…well, uh…sharp!
Prices start at $20 for an hour but if you bring a group and make a reservation, the cost gets…chopped!
Okay, that’s it for the puns.
If you are looking for a place to have fun, do something you don’t normally do and, just maybe, ease a little holiday stress: Grab your flannel shirt and head for Blade and Timber. It is no “axe-cident” (sorry) that this place is fun.
