Blizzard creates flurry of calls for metro tow truck drivers

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — When winter weather strikes the metro, CJ Marrow is ready.

He knows snow-covered roads can cause slick travel conditions, leading to wrecks, fender-benders, and cars in ditches.

"A lot of people [have been] sliding all over the road," he said. "Pretty much [on] every street. Main street, side street, they were everywhere."

41 Action News rode along with Independence Specialty Tow on Monday.

Since Sunday's storm, the company has helped at least 60 people who were stuck—pulling many cars out of ditches.

Even though the storm has passed, drivers like Marrow are not anticipating the call log to get shorter. With temperatures expected to drop, they are preparing for another flurry of calls.
