KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Another Kansas City metro restaurant will close its doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blue Moose Bar and Grill in Prairie Village announced on Saturday that Dec. 31 will be its last day of operation.

The restaurant “can no longer generate the sales necessary to pay the bills,” according to a news release.

Managing Member Ed Nelson said in the release that the Blue Moose has been an “integral” part of Prairie Village for nearly 20 years.

“We have employed hundreds of wonderful people and provided thousands a neighborhood establishment they could enjoy and be proud of,” Nelson said. “However, we just could not overcome the lack of sales caused by COVID and the restrictions.”
