KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Blue Springs police identified the teenager who was killed Saturday in atriple shooting in the 1200 block of Southwest Sunset St.
Jayden M. Lockett, 17, of Blue Springs was fatally wounded during an exchange of gunfire that also left two other teenagers hospitalized, police said Sunday.
Police said a 15-year-old boy who lived at the residence remains in intensive care at a local hospital with critical injuries.
A 19-year-old man who also lived at the house was shot during the incident. He treated for a gunshot wound to his elbow and released.
The Blue Springs Police Department’s Investigations Unit has developed a person of interest in the fatal shooting.
Police said Saturday night the 19-year-old had admitted to shooting Lockett, but the circumstances of the incident remained under investigation.
Officers were dispatched to the residence after receiving a call from someone who had been shot around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
The two surviving victims were transported to the hospital as police awaited a search warrant to enter the residence and investigate Lockett’s death.
