STILLWELL, Kan. — Blue Valley Head Football Coach Eric Driskell is being celebrated for what many call his biggest win ever, and it has nothing to do with football.

Driskell died in February after a ruptured brain aneurysm. His picture will now join 44 other organ donors as its proudly displayed on the Donate Life Rose Parade float.

Driskell will be on the Rose Parade Float with a floragraph, a portrait made of all organic material.

Friends, family members and workers with the Midwest Transplant Network, including Brooke Connell were all in attendance as the portrait was unveiled at Blue Valley High School.

“This float will be seen by millions across the nation,” said Connell.

Connell and others hope the float along with the actions of people like Driskell stress the importance of organ donation.

“When I see that [picture], I see a hero," Connell said. "I see someone who changed the lives of students, of family members, but who also saved lives as a donor.”
