Bald eagle rescued on Presidents Day by Bonner Springs Animal Control passes away

UPDATE, Feb 26, 8 a.m.: The Bonner Springs Police Department reports Kendra the bald eagle has passed away.

Rescued on Presidents Day, Kendra was being treated at Operation Wildlife for kidney and lower extremity injuries.

ORIGINAL STORY | Animal control officers in Bonner Springs rescued a bald eagle on Presidents Day, according to the Bonner Springs Police Department.

According to the department the bald eagle, named Kendra, was discovered down and injured.

The Bonner Springs Police Department shared images of the rescued bird in a Facebook post.

The bald eagle was transported to an area clinic for recovery treatment.

The same department previously chased a runaway camel in December.
