KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Boulevardia will be held on Grand Boulevard and throughout Crown Center and Washington Square Park in 2020, festival organizers announced Wednesday.
In its previous six years, the “country within a country” urban street fest called the West Bottoms and the Stockyards District home.
Festival Producer Keli O'Neill Wenzel said moving the festival's location keeps it fresh and brings new opportunities.
"With us moving downtown we have access to the street car, we have tons of parking, ride share is done really well here," O'Neill Wenzel said.
O'Neill Wenzel said the last few years have shed light on issues such as parking and ride shares, which she is confident the new location will solve.
It will also provide more lodging options for festival-goers.
"We have two hotels located on site, so this can really become a regional and local stay-cation however you look at it," O'Neill Wenzel said.
The event features craft beer and food sampling, interactive activities, entertainment, shopping and music from local, regional and national artists.
Organizers said signature attractions will return at the fest’s new location, including the ferris wheel, silent disco, and Makers Market.
There will also be new elements and experiences for fest-goers to enjoy.
O'Neill Wenzel said the festival will work with nearby hotels to put together ticket packages.
Boulevardia returns in 2020 on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20.
