KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The new Whole Foods in Brookside will open in late spring. On Thursday, the company is holding a job fair.

If you drive near UMKC, chances are you have seen construction crews for a while.

Brookside 51 is a new apartment building with a parking garage. The building will also house a new Whole Foods.

When the new location opens, the store on Metcalf will close.

“The store is really going to be state of the art. We are going to have full wine and spirits on the retail floor as well as a tap room. We have more than 160 seats for customers and team members to dine in. Food venues, a 20-foot pizza deck, multiple hot bars, all of your needs to eat in or take it home for you and your loved ones to celebrate,” said Store Team Leader Roy Mahan.

The company will have a hiring event at Embassy Suites on the Plaza Thursday. Interviews will take place from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The company said they will fill about 100 positions. The employees at the Metcalf location have the option to transfer to the new Brookside store.
