Gold Rush Exchange, located on West 103rd, was one of many businesses that suffered damage on Thursday during the flash flooding.

Manager Sean Bond walked 41 Action News through the damage, which included torn down walls, destroyed ceilings and many items carried away by flood waters.

"When the alarm company called me, they were telling me there was an alarm going off on my front door," he explained. "Whenever I first came in, there was jewelry coming out the bottom of the door."

Bond showed parts of his office where there are new water marks several feet off the ground.

Chairs, tables, building material and numerous other items were strewn about the space.

Bond told 41 Action News that the jewelry lost to the flood included a $10,000 engagement ring a friend was going to propose to his girlfriend with soon.

"We've been looking all day, and I've had a bunch of hands out here that have been doing the same thing," he said.

By nightfall, Bond and his friends continued to search for the ring as a pile of destroyed items got bigger in the parking lot.

After a Thursday filled with destruction for his business, Bond found a way to see a silver lining.

"Not really worried about material stuff. You can get it all the time. People are a different story," he explained. "We're strong people. We'll get through it."
